How David spent his Thursday evening

Preparing for both Halloween and Election Day.

One month, more like three weeks!

David might have been a little off with his estimate this morning of one month to go. We just got back from the final ultrasound appointment and the tech had some surprising news. 

Based on her measurements today, the tech suggested that November 13th was a more reasonable estimate on the due date than November 22nd. She also estimated Ruby's weight to be around 6 pounds 8 ounces. I thought she meant her predicted weight at birth, but the tech confirmed that this was an estimate of her weight TODAY. Looks like we're going to have a big girl on our hands.

We realize that these are all rough estimates and Ruby will only come when Ruby's ready. But I will admit that it got me a little nervous and super excited to think that we might get to meet her sooner than expected.

Joyce is AMAZING!

We had another fabulous baby shower this weekend, courtesy of Joyce and her hard work the last few months. Mother Martha even came into town to join the festivities and have a girl's weekend. Gigi's friends sure know how to throw and enjoy a good party!

Ruby got so many beautiful gifts, but I have to comment on a few here that were extra special...Gigi made the most amazing diaper bag EVER from the Amy Butler nursery fabric. Many hours of hard work and love went into the bag-it's so beautiful that I've already started using it :)



The best gift of the shower was a blanket knit by my grandmother, Albina. I cried, A LOT, when I opened the gift, as I had no idea Ruby would be getting a gift from Mom-Mom.

Thanks to all the ladies who made the shower so special. Thanks to y'all, Ruby is going to be a very fashionable little lady. And thanks to Alexandria for being my helper all day-opening all those presents was much easier with an assistant.

We'll put a post up soon with some pictures from this past weekend's wonderful baby shower, where Ruby continued to rake in all sorts of goodies.

Tonight, however, we're going to be at the first of two maternity photo sessions with Austin's Best Kids Photographer, Lyndsay Stradtner. Along with Lyndsay's mentee, MC, we'll be out in Leander, tromping through the mud created by the heavy rains of Tuesday and Wednesday.

OB update

I just had another OB appointment and we got exciting news from the doctor... Ruby's head is DOWN! I am already so proud of Ruby for knowing she had to move down and start getting ready for her big arrival in a few weeks. Next week, we have appointment for an ultrasound to get an estimate on her weight and in two weeks, the doctor will check my progress. I feel like things are moving so quickly now!

BOB

Behold the awesomeness that is BOB: Ruby's marvelous gift from Grandma and Grandpa Edmonson. Unfortunately, the box was so big that it has been parked (har!) in Houston for the last two weeks. Poppa Guerin was able to bring it up to Austin, though, so it was finally put together.

Emilia offered to model the stroller by running with it, but I declined.

Baby Shower

We had a fabulous baby shower in Houston last weekend thanks to Lauren and Judy! The location was perfect, the food was delicious, the cupcakes were adorable, and the company was delightful. Thanks to all the ladies who made it and brought such wonderful gifts for little Ruby.
