Ruby and I spent the afternoon in the backyard, lounging in the kiddie pool and splashing in the water table. We're working on getting good base tans before our trip later this week to San Diego. Here is my beautiful girl, who was clearly too busy playing to let me finish rubbing in the sunscreen.

Ten on Tuesday, Picture Edition
We had a great Easter weekend with Gigi, Baba, Tio Chuy, and our neighbors, the Weeks. Here are ten photos from our relaxing weekend of just hanging around the house and playing with Ruby.

Flashback Friday
Before there was Beatrice, Ruby or even Stella....there was Laney. I was the mommy's helper for Laney's family during college and graduate school, starting with the family when she was three years old and her triplet sisters were newborns.
I love Laney and now so does Ruby. We spent the morning with Laney and her family to celebrate Laney's 11th birthday. It's crazy to me that I've known her for eight years and that she now plays with my little girl. Happy Birthday Laney! We hope you have a fabulous year!

Ruby Likes Puzzles
We do a lot of puzzles these days, as Ruby is kind of obsessed. These are the puzzles Ruby has done since we finished lunch about an hour ago. I'm sure once I'm done posting this, we'll go take them all apart and put them together all over again.
I asked her to pose in the picture, but she declined. She's shy :)

Emotions
Concerned.
Deep in thought. ("Put my finger on my mustache and say 'hmmm'")
Wild!
Beautiful. (not an emotion, but whatever)

Flashback Friday
When Ruby was first born, I was a little worried that she wouldn't know her aunt and uncle that well because they live so far away. But Lo and Jake have done an awesome job of planning regular visits, video chatting on the computer, and sending little presents to Ruby to remind her how much they love her. She LOVES them, A LOT. To give you an example of how much she loves them, here's a recap of our conversation in the car last week as I was getting Ruby out of her carseat:
Me: I love you, sweet girl.
Ruby: I love Uncle Jake.
If it was anyone else she named, I might have been a little jealous. But I totally understand. I love Uncle Jake too: he's a cool guy, he has a motorcycle, he makes great silly faces. So, in honor of her favorite relatives, some oldies but goodies of Ruby with her goofy and lovable aunt and uncle.
