I've been trying to read more with Ruby, but will admit that I don't find the time to do so every day. When I do read to her, however, I always grab "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Ruby actually has two copies of the book- a big one for her nursery, and a little one that I carry in the diaper bag. If a three month old could have a favorite book, this would be it. I am amazed at how she concentrates so intensely on the pictures and is completely silent the whole time I'm reading. And just today, she started to reach for the pages as we go.
In other book related news...I finished my first non-baby book since having Ruby! I am very proud of myself, as it is not easy to find time to read when taking care of a three-month old and trying to keep the house tidy. Finishing a book was important to me, as I don't want to become a mother who only reads baby-related books and can only talk about baby-related topics. Unfortunately, I would only give the book three out of five stars, as it was only mindless girly fiction. I was so excited about my accomplishment though that I'm already on book two. I just hope I can finish it before book club in a few weeks, it's loooong.
