Ten on Tuesday: San Diego Edition

1. We got back from beautiful San Diego last night. Ruby and I had a fabulous six day vacation, but we missed David like crazy. I didn't want him to go to work this morning because I still miss him.

2. Lauren and Jacob are the best aunt and uncle ever.

3. I used our vacation as a chance to do some important personal research. ... and the mojito is the clear winner in the margarita vs. mojito contest. Here is the recipe for the watermelon mojito that David discovered last week. It is delightfully refreshing on a hot summer night.

4. Ruby and Aunt Lo have the exact same color hair. When Aunt Lo would hold Ruby, you could literally not tell where her hair ended and Ruby's hair began. I'm sure everyone thought I was the nanny for the pretty blonde girls. Here are the gorgeous blondies with the sweet brunette nanny.

5. I have figured out how we are going to become rich. I am going to open a smoothie shop in Austin that only sells acai bowls. They are seriously the most delicious smoothie-related treat ever invented: acai yogurt, delicious granola, fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas, all topped off with lots of gooey honey. It makes my mouth water just typing that out.

6. When we are rich from the acai craze that will sweep across Austin, I am going to spend all of my money at Trader Joe's. We went three times during our six day trip and I could have gone more. For the Trader Joe's junkies who read the blog (Emily), I bought: dark chocolate pretzel bark, meyer lemon cookies, pistachio toffee, israeli couscous, pumpkin pancake mix, harvest blend couscous, pesto, corn crackers, chile seasoned mango strips and dijon mustard. I plan to share a few things with David because I'm such a good wife.

7. I think Ruby might have a little crush on her Uncle Jake. He is very handsome, after all. I think she might be even more crushed when we have to explain to her that you can't marry your uncle.

8. Ruby met beautiful Baby Savannah while in San Diego. They had an instant connection and are going to be great pen pals, as soon as they both learn to read and write. I was curious to see how Ruby would react to me loving on a sweet little newborn, and she did great. She even gave Savannah some high fives and sweet open mouth kisses.

9. Ruby also felt an instant connection with Sylvia, the cat. Sadly, however, I do not think that Sylvia shares Ruby's love. This was as close as I could get them for a photo op, although Ruby tried her hardest to get closer while yelling "meow, meow" over and over again.

10. I know that I ended my last Ten on Tuesday post with a butt shot, but I can't resist these sweet cheeks.
