My Heart is Breaking

I had a baby last week, or at least it feels like last week. She's still sweet and cuddly, sleeps right up next to me in bed, and nurses about twenty times a day. There is no way she is almost six months old. And there is definitely no way that I was folding clothes in her room this afternoon and turned around to see this:

Yes, that is my tiny baby pulling herself up to a standing position on the side of the crib. I have no idea who taught her such nonsense, but my immediate reaction was to knock her down and pretend it didn't happen. There is a reason I don't like my girls in cribs when they're babies- they go and pull stuff like this and break their momma's heart.

Hey Big Red
You are breaking my heart too.
I wanted you to stay a baby a little while longer. It is OK for you to grow up but you have to promise you will stay as sweet and loveable as you are now, if you have any problems Ruby will show you how this is done.
Love you both.
Gigi

I also remember a little girl who grew up much too fast. Now she is a wonderful woman, mother, wife and still a wonderful daughter. This is the fate of a parent. Not all bad I might add although it might seem so today.
