Soccer

Ruby played her first soccer game today.  After talking it up for over a month, practicing in the front yard, and buying new shoes, shorts, and shin guards, we figured she was ready to have fun.  After all, doesn't this picture taken just before we left for the game scream fun?

Once we got there, we realized her enthusiasm level was a tad below ours.  I think she was overwhelmed by the whole thing, and we ended up spending the bulk of the time trying to convince her to stand - not sit - on the playing field.  No worries, though, as we got some great pictures of her being pouty.

Yes, this is in the middle of the field, during the game.  And, yes, the kid in the background is carrying the ball with his hands.  Three year-old soccer is awesome.

Beatrice, Gigi, Baba, and Aunt Jo were all excellent cheerleaders.

How funny! Were Ruby and that little boy making faces at each other? Looks like Sweet Bea and Gigi were having fun. Can't wait for next week's pics!
