Ten on Tuesday

1. We had a big change in the Edmonson house this week - Ruby has officially moved to a big girl bed! On Sunday we decided to just rip the bandaid off quickly and take down the crib. I didn't realize until we were literally taking the pieces out of her room just how emotional it was going to be for me. Ruby was laughing and excitedly checking out her new big girl bed but I was a mess. I was standing there, holding the side of the crib, and crying.

2. I've gotten over taking the crib out because Ruby seems to love her big girl bed so much (it was, after all, handmade by her great-, great-, great-grandfather - seriously). I tried to get some pictures of her new room this morning while we were hanging out, but she just wanted to play. She was in a GOOFY mood and I loved it.

3. How OLD does she look in this picture? I feel like it's a preview of Rubina as a teenager.

4. Stanley is also a fan of the big girl bed. It gives him another place to hang out.

5. Ruby also had another first this week: her first dance class. I tried snapping a picture with my camera phone but she was on the move and hard to catch. This is the best shot I have:

She might look adorable in a leotard, but it was clear that Ruby is not ready for dance class yet. We need to work a little bit on following directions.

6. Ruby loves her new trampoline and jumps every day. I think her friend, Olivia, might love it even more though. When Olivia was over on Saturday, she stayed on the tramp for about four hours. Seriously. I think I know what Olivia needs for her second birthday (hint, hint O's mom and dad).

7. Ruby and Desmond are such good friends. Taryne and I chaperoned their date to the Austin Zoo this morning. We had an awesome time.

8. A mom on the playground came up to us yesterday and told me what a fashionista my little girl was. I was so proud. Here she is in true fashionista style, rocking her skinny jeans.

9. We're going to Tulsa on Friday to celebrate David's grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary. We've been talking up the trip all week and Ruby is pretty excited. When we ask her who she is most excited to see, she says "HOLLY! OH HOLLY! kisses for Holly! Yummy, yummy, kisses!" Holly is Juju and Grandpa's dog. Apparently, Ruby loves her more than we had realized.
